- Description
- Request for Information: Quality Control Inspector Job Tasks Analysis/Scheme Committee Members REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Quality Control Inspector Job Tasks Analysis/Scheme Committee Members Since 2010, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the U.S. Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) have worked to develop foundational workforce resources through the Guidelines for Home Energy Professionals (HEP) project to support a high-quality weatherization and home performance industry. NREL has developed the Standard Work Specifications and the advanced Home Energy Professionals Certification Schemes for single-family residential building energy professionals and the required Job Tasks Analyses (JTAs), in accordance with the International Standards Organization (ISO) 17024 standard for personnel certifications. As part of this ongoing effort, NREL is seeking volunteers to participate on the HEP Quality Control Inspector (QCI) JTA and QCI Scheme Maintenance Committees for the continuation of the ISO-accredited certification program. NREL is interested in single-family home performance professionals who have the experience and vision to help define and promote the national certification for the current workforce. This application process is for two different committees. The QCI JTA Committee will be comprised of novice to expert single-family home energy professionals and will be asked to review the JTA-validation process and potentially revise the existing QCI JTA, developed in 2011. The second committee, the QCI Scheme Maintenance Committee, will be a subset of the larger JTA committee, comprised of only subject matter experts (SMEs) responsible for maintaining the scheme components in the continuing effort to ensure the scheme aligns with current industry best practices. The larger QCI JTA Committee will be asked to sit on the committee for two years where the smaller QCI Scheme Maintenance Committee, comprised solely of SMEs, will be asked to sit on the committee for four years. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2016. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at workforce.guidelines@nrel.gov.
