- The purpose of this special notice is to announce the first two Defense Health Agency Industry Roundtable meetings. The Defense Health Agency's (DHA) Component Acquisition Executive (CAE), in collaboration with the DHA Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP), is conducting a series of small group open conversations with industry partners to identify specific procedures and practices that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the DHA acquisition process and ways to improve it. This open conversation is part of an effort to improve communications with DHA industry partners and increase the efficiency of the DHA acquisition process. The overall objective is to identify impactful steps that can be taken to make it easier for companies to do business with DHA and enter into contracts that allow these companies to provide innovative solutions to optimize healthcare for the warfighter while being responsible to the American taxpayer. Dialogue will be encouraged in each of the following areas: • Industry engagement - e.g., opportunities for DHA to improve communications with industry; what does industry need from DHA that it is not getting? Perspective on Better Buying Power (BBP) initiatives as applicable to DHA procurements. • Procurement practices - e.g., opinions about DHA's strategy for acquiring IT services; DHA's approach to evaluating and addressing potential organizational conflict of interest impacts on its procurement activities; opportunities for DHA to obtain increased value from its procurements; opportunities to promote greater consideration of innovative solutions and procurement practices. • Participation by small and minority businesses - e.g., opportunities for improving platforms for industry to learn about business opportunities and making the bidding process more user friendly, and lowering the cost of doing business. In order to participate in the open conversations, interested parties must register to attend an on-site round-table meeting with the DHA CAE and DHA OSBP. These meetings will be held at the DHA, Defense Health Headquarters located in Falls Church, VA. Each meeting will be limited to not more than six (6) participants (only one individual per company) that will be randomly selected after the registration closing date for each session. Once a company has a representative attend one of the round-table meetings in the series, that company will not be eligible to send a representative to a subsequent meeting in the series. Location Defense Health Agency 7700 Arlington Boulevard Falls Church, VA 22042 Closest Metro Station is Dunn Loring (shuttle service is available to Defense Health Headquarters) Registration is now open for the March 9, 2016 - Roundtable #1. Registration will close at 3:00 p.m. (EST) on March 2, 2016. Registration opens on March 25, 2016 for Roundtable #2 on April 13, 2016 and closes 3:00pm (EST) on April 1, 2016. Submit registration requests for the specific meeting of interest with subject line: "Roundtable #X" to dha.smallbusinessforum@mail.mil and include the following information: 1) Attendee's Name 2) Company Name 3) Attendee's Email Address 4) Attendee's Phone Number 5) Whether or not a parking pass or metro shuttle pass is needed (A metro pass is not required if the individual has a Common Access Card (CAC)). REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY PHONE To enter the DHHQ, you must have a government issued photo ID card (driver's license or state issued ID) if not employed by the federal government. The name(s) of all visitors will be submitted to building security 48 hours prior to visiting DHHQ, therefore last-minute substitutes will not be permitted to enter the building. Registration for other Roundtable sessions will open at a later date, and the announcement will be posted as an amendment to this notice. If you are interested in attending a future Roundtable session, you are encouraged to monitor both the Vendor Collaboration and Small Business Events tab. NOTE: DHA will terminate the series of meetings at its own discretion and does not guarantee that every company that wants to attend one of the meetings will be offered an opportunity to do so.
