Description
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS-RADIOACTIVE WASTE, PACKAGING & TRANSPORT VA260-16-Q-0255 1.Please define unit "JB" as listed on the pricing sheet within the SOW. "ANSWER: JB stands for Job 2.Please estimate total number of required shipments per year, and number of drums per shipment. "ANSWER: The answer to the question regarding the number of required shipments per year and number of drums per shipment is: 1 shipment per year and 1 to 2 drums per shipment. 3.From B.2, a quantity assumption of 6 JOBS per year is estimated when only a single shipment of one or two drums per year is necessary. "What is the basis for 6 JOBS? Does a JOB consist of one shipment of up to two 55-gallon drums? "ANSWER: Part 1: We are only estimating a shipment of 1 time per year with a total of 1-2 55 gallon drums. We do not generate enough waste at this time for more than this. "Would the VA prefer to package up to twelve drums per year, with six possible shipments for bidding purposes? "ANSWER: Part 2: Since we are only looking at a single shipment per year, this question becomes mute. 4.From B.3. No. 7. A. (Packaging, Packing and Shipping Instructions), the waste will be packaged in 55 gallon drums. "Will the VA provide the drums? "Will each drum be compacted by the VA prior to transfer the contractor for disposal? "ANSWER: Our VA does not have the capability to provide, compact or package the drums. We would be relying on the vendor for material and packaging services prior to transfer of the drums to an authorized waste repository. 5.From B.1, No. 3. (Invoices), the invoicing period is provided as monthly. "Would it be possible to submit invoicing in arrears at the completion of each Job? "ANSWER: We would expect to pay the invoice at the completion of each job.
