Description
SCARS RFI Rev. 1 This is an RFI only in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-3 - Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (October 1997). The Government anticipates a future contract award(s) to develop a technical strategy to facilitate the rapid insertion of cybersecurity updates into simulator systems. This may be followed by additional efforts to modify/upgrade USAF simulators and training systems in order to effectively and efficiently fulfill recurring cybersecurity compliance upgrades. In support of these potential future efforts, the Government is assessing the capability of companies that may possess the expertise to competently and competitively respond to these requirements. T he objective of this RFI is to gather information about what current technologies are available and applicable to USAF simulators, to take them from the current state described below to a future state that meets the objective of improved cybersecurity resiliency, without compromising existing training capability. While the acquisition strategy is yet to be determined, this RFI falls under the Simulators Division's Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) umbrella initiative. Market Research results will assist the Air Force in determining an acquisition strategy. Responses are due NLT 3:00 PM EST 11 March 2016. The Government may converse with respondents regarding this RFI. Such conversations are intended to understand potential capability to perform the requirements.
