SOURCES SOUGHT TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY HOUSING HEALTH CARE FOR HOMELESS VETERANS FOR THE ROBERT J. DOLE VA MEDICAL CENTER, WICHITA, KANSAS CATCHMENT AREA SYNOPSIS The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to solicit proposals from contractors in the catchment area of the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. This catchment area includes the Kansas counties of Sedgwick, Butler, Saline, Harvey, Reno and Labette. The VA anticipates issuing a solicitation for this requirement on or about April 1, 2016 with a closing date for proposals on or about May 1, 2016. The solicitation will be available for download from www.fbo.gov Interested contractors will be responsible for downloading copies of solicitation (and any subsequent amendments) from that website. No hard copies will be made available. The solicitation will provide full information to contractors about the proposal submission process. Prospective offerors are encouraged to register their interest in the solicitation on the FBO website so that they are notified of the issuance of the solicitation and any amendments. The goal of the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program is to remove homeless veterans from the street or habitation unfit and place them in community based residential environments with sufficient therapeutic services to meet the needs of those veterans. These community based facilities should offer safe and secure environment that supports the veteran's rehabilitation goals. The Contractor will be required to provide housing, meals, and transportation. The VA also has a need for housing accommodations for both male and female veterans, and veterans with physical disability requiring special accommodations such as wheelchair or other accessibility needs. Contracts will have a base term of one year, with options for four additional one-year terms exercisable at the discretion of the VA. NAICS Code 624221 has a small business size standard of $11M. The solicitation will be issued for full and open competition. All responsible sources may submit proposals which shall be considered by the Agency.
