- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division, Measurement Science Department, Code MS22 requires the purchase of one (1) Vertical Machining Center Model used for the repair and manufacturing of special interface gages, weapon systems prototypes, and support equipment. The Precision Machining and Tooling, Machine Shop located in the Measurement Science & Technology Laboratory (MSTL) at NSWC Corona Division in Norco, CA has a requirement to repair and manufacture special interface gages, support equipment, and prototypes for mission critical weapon systems while reducing costs and increasing production efforts. In order to meet these requirements, the MSTL requires the acquisition of a CNC Vertical Milling Center. SPECIFICATIONS: Machine Requirement Part Description General Vertical CNC Machining Center; 150" x 32" x 30" (3810 x 813 x 762 mm), 50-taper geared-head, 30 hp (22.4 kW) vector drive, 7500 rpm, 30+1 side-mount tool changer, 360 ipm (9.1 m/min) X rapids, 600 ipm (15.2 m/min) Y & Z rapids, automatic chip auger, programmable coolant nozzle, color remote jog handle, 15" color LCD monitor, USB port, memory lock keyswitch, 1 GB program memory, rigid tapping and 95-gallon (360 liter) flood coolant system. Anchor kit. Stand Alone Controller Control must be optimized for standalone operations (Without Network connection), 1 GB program Memory. 4 th Axis Control Allows the use of a fully integrated 4th-axis rotary table or indexer for multi-sided machining. Software Interoperation Shall work with our existing MasterCAM Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software. Shall use programs developed in MasterCAM for our existing machines without changes to program. 5 th Axis control Allows the use of a fully integrated 5th-axis trunion for multi-sided machining. Machine must have 4 th axis controller on machine to use 5 th axis controler Through Spindle Coolant This through-spindle coolant system provides up to 300 psi (21 bar) of coolant to the cutting edge. Max 12,000 rpm with TSC enabled. Workspace Lighting High intensity workspace lights provide bright, even illumination of the work area. Lights operate automatically when doors open and close, or can be activated manually. Linear Scaling Linear scales ensure absolute positioning accuracy along X, Y and Z axes by compensating for thermal variations. With 1-micron resolution, these scales deliver the extreme accuracy required for mold making and other high-precision applications. Intuitive Programming Intuitive Program System to guide operator through the steps of machine programming. Coolant Filtration This 25-micron, #2 bag-type filter systems removes contamination and minute particles from the coolant before they can be recirculated through the coolant pump. Mandatory for machines with through-tool coolant when machining cast iron, cast aluminum, wood, phenolic and other particulate-producing materials. Power Configuration Internal High-Voltage Isolated Transformer for 380-480V, three (3) phase operation. Machine Placement Hardware The Lifting Kit includes hardware and brackets necessary for lifting/placing the machine. 4 th /5 th Axis Trunnion Rotary Table 210 mm (8.27") Tilting 2-Axis Trunnion Rotary Table, with scale feedback on the A (tilting) axis. Requires mill with 4th- and 5th-axis drives for true 4th- and 5th-axis operation and linear scaling. Misc Rigging to include: Unload and uncrate machine from truck. remove all packaging materials from site. Move and place machine in final position then rough level. Does not include utility connections. Power Failure Detection Module Identifies low/no power levels and will lock the spindle to prevent a Z-Drop into the work piece/table Item Unique Identification Tag (IUID) IUID tag plate per MIL-STD-130x NOTE: Only information provided in the written Capability Statement shall be considered. BASED ON THE RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE/MARKET RESEARCH, THIS REQUIREMENT MAY BE SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES OR PROCURED THROUGH FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION.
