Description
The Southeast Regional Maintenance Center issues this Sources Sought notice as a means of market research to determine the extent of sources capable of supporting the upcoming continuous maintenance availability (CMAV) onboard USS LASSEN (DDG 82). USS LASSEN (DDG 82) is a radiologically affected ship transferring home ports to Mayport, Florida in June 2016. Background: On March 11, 2011, an earthquake struck off the coast of Honshu, Japan, which caused damage to the Fukushima Nuclear Power Facility. Radioactivity released into the atmosphere and deposited on ships downwind. Trained ship personnel have decontaminated accessible areas. Shipboard systems and spaces shall be surveyed by qualified contractor personnel to confirm they are below legal limits prior to being released for maintenance. This is referred to as Fallout Radiological Controls and Contamination Limits. All workers can perform maintenance on ship systems or components not under fallout controls. The following systems remain under radiological controls for USS LASSEN (DDG 82): 1. Intakes 2. Uptakes 3. Waste Drain Tanks 4. Generators 5. Main Engines (and modules) All contractor personnel assigned work on the previously stated affected systems shall receive training on radiological controls. This is neither a solicitation nor request for proposal. The Government will use responses from this sources sought notice to make a decision about soliciting these requirements. It does not obligate the Government to any contract award. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 336611. Organizations must have the ability to successfully perform these required services and must have or be able to obtain a Master Ship Repair Agreement (MSRA). Please provide the following information: Organization name, address, email address, Web site address, telephone number, and size and type of ownership for the organization. The Government will evaluate market information to ascertain the potential market. BASED ON THE RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE, THESE REQUIREMENTS MAY BE SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES OR PROCURED THROUGH FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding their submissions.
