Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NCO 23 Construction Contracting Office, located in Johnston Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bids (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract for completion of construction project# 437-14-111, "Replace Central Chiller Plant", located at the Fargo VA Health Care System, Fargo, North Dakota. The winning contractor is to provide all labor, materials, tools, supplies, equipment and supervision necessary to perform and complete all work for the construction project. Work includes, but not limited to, installing a new modular chiller plant building with chillers, pumps, pipping, controls, and numerous other components. Electrical feeds to the equipment and building shall be installed. Cooling towers shall be installed, relocation of an air cooled chiller shall take place, fencing, retaining wall work and other items noted for a complete project and installation shall be provided under the contract. Demolition of the old chiller plant shall also be part of the scope of work. This notice is for the informational purposes only and is not an invitation for bids. The government in not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. Work is to be completed within 270 calendar days from the notice to proceed (NTP). Specifications and drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the SAM database (http://www.sam.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (enrique.perez2@va.gov). IFB issue date is tentatively scheduled for early May of 2016. The Pre-bid meeting/site-visit will be announced upon solicitation issuance. Bid opening date is tentatively scheduled for early June of 2016. Exact date and time will be specified during the issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $36.5 million. Magnitude is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00
