- Conference Call with Industry on Traditionally-Harvested Wild Rice Invitation for Interested Parties to Participate in a Conference Call United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service Commodity Procurement Staff February 9, 2016 Special Notice to the Trade - Conference Call with Industry on Traditionally-Harvested Wild Rice Invitation for Interested Parties to Participate in a Conference Call Notice Number: AG-CPSKC-Notice-16-009 Classification Code: 89-Subsistence NAICS Code: 311212 Rice Milling Synopsis Interested parties are invited to participate in a conference call with USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) to discuss traditionally-harvested wild rice specifications, quality assurance, product availability (industry capacity), and how to sell products to the USDA. During the conference call with industry, USDA will share information on the type of product it seeks to buy, and would like to discuss with participants wild rice specifications, customary quality assurance in the industry, supplies on-hand, etc. USDA encourages questions from participants during the call, including on how to apply to sell wild rice for use in USDA Domestic Food Assistance Programs. USDA-AMS intends to purchase traditionally-harvested wild rice for USDA Domestic Food Assistance Programs through a solicitation scheduled for issuance on or after February 11, 2016. See FBO pre-solicitation notice AG-DRPD-S-16-0029. Traditionally-harvested wild rice must be of U.S. origin, i.e., grown, harvested, processed, packaged, etc., within the United States.
