- Under Statutory Authority FAR 6.302-1 the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Volcano Corporation 3721 Valley Centre Drive, Suite 500, San Diego, CA 92130-3328 to disassemble, move, reassemble and calibrate the 2 Volcano systems at the William S. Middleton VA Medical Center in Madison, WI. VA requires the vendor to have the specific training and certification to be able to TI/calibrate the volcano systems without faulting the manufacturer's warranty. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial items. This will be a firm fixed price contract for a period of performance of no longer than 6 months. The NAICS Code is 811310. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers of similar size and complexity who are currently using these services, proof of certification on Volcano equipment and proof of authorization from Volcano Corporation to work on the mechanicals of Volcano equipment. to the Contracting Officer by 12:00PM (CST) 2/9/2016. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements and have to articulate precisely how they can immediately disassemble, move, reassemble and calibrate the Volcano systems to not delay pending patient caseload without patients missing medical appointments. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
