Sources Sought for Radar Target Data Processor (Intent to Purchase on Sole-Source Basis) FROM: Keith Capra 407th SCMS/GULBD TO: DLA Aviation Procurement Operations at Warner Robins (SPRWA1) LOCATION: Robins AFB, GA 31098-1813 FBO Post Title: Intent to sole-source purchase of 5998-01-626-3923CX - Circuit Card Assembly, 5998-01-623-3701CW - Circuit Card Assembly, 5998-01-623-6838CW - Circuit Card Assembly SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the NSNs included in PR FD2060-16-00049. ITEM DESCRIPTION: These circuit card assemblies are required to support the Radar Target Data Processor (P/N: 525607) which is part of the AN/APX-103 IFF system used on the AWACS (E-3) Aircraft. The Radar Target Data Processor (RTDP) takes the information from the other components that comprise the AN/APX-103 IFF system, and distributes the information between the Radar Receiver Transmitters to verify and validate target aircraft identified by the radar system. It also takes power inputs, navigation data information and control status data and provides data updates to the radars as well as to the aircrew monitoring the system. IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION: The original equipment manufacturer for these items is Telephonics Inc. (CAGE 64694), which maintains the configurations and data for the APN/APX 13. As a result, Telephonics,Inc. is the only supplier of these circuit card assemblies and has possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST: The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Telephoncs, Inc. for the manufacture of these circuit card assemblies in support of the AN/APX-103 IFF system. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 15 September 2015 by emailing Keith Capra at keith.capra.1@us.af.mil and dla.dlr.proc@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed
