DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide Maintenance Dredging, Wilmington Harbor Outer Ocean Bar, Brunswick County, North Carolina. The work for Wilmington Harbor Outer Ocean Bar shall consist of maintenance dredging of Wilmington Harbor Baldhead Shoal Channel Reach 3. The maintenance dredging will require removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels since they were last dredged. The dredging shall be performed by hopper dredge. The environmental window for hopper dredging for this requirement is extended to 01 May 2016. Dredging depth is 44' plus 2' of allowable over depth. The estimated quantity of material to be dredged is 600,000 cubic yards. The Government furnished disposal area is the Wilmington Harbor Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. A Coast Guard Certified Equipment hopper dredge is required for this project. The request for proposal will be issued on February 2, 2016 and proposals will be due on March 3, 2016. The award of the task order will be made on the basis of Lowest Price Technical Acceptable (LPTA). The technical evaluation factors are - Availability of technically acceptable plant and equipment. Dredging shall be performed by an ocean certified hopper dredge. - Past Performance; The request for proposal will be issued in electronic format only and will be posted on the FedBizOpps website at www.fbo.gov.
