Description
GERC Market Research Questionnaire GERC Market Research Questionnaire John W. Keys III Pump Generating Plant The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is conducting market research for John W. Keys III Pump Generating Plant (Keys PGP) Replacement of Governors, Exciters, Protective Relays, and Unit Controls. The Keys PGP is one of the few large pump generation facilities in the western United States that has potential pump storage/wind integration capacity, but this will require extensive rehabilitation and improvement to the existing facility. The Keys PGP consists of six pumping units and six pump/generating (PG) units. The six pumping units (P1-P6) are each rated at 65,000 horsepower (hp). PG units 7 and 8 are each rated at 67,500 hp in the pump mode and 50,000 kilowatts (kW) in the generating mode. PG units 9 through 12 are each rated at 70,000 hp in the pump mode and 53,500 kW in the generating mode. Upgrades are planned for the governors, exciters, protective relays, and controls for all the units. The intent of this notice is to identify potential offerors for Keys PGP Replacement of Governors, Exciters, Protective Relays, and Unit Controls. Interested prime contractors and subcontractors are invited to complete the Questionnaire. Participation is voluntary and respondents will not be compensated for their participation. The identity of respondents will not be revealed outside the Contracting Officer's staff. A contract will not result directly from this market research and there may be future market research or acquisition planning announcements made regarding the Keys PGP Replacement of Governors, Exciters, Protective Relays, and Unit Controls. Background information on the Keys PGP Replacement of Governors, Exciters, Protective Relays, and Unit Controls; List of Equipment Potentially Included in Solicitation; and the Questionnaire itself are attached to this notice. Completed Questionnaires will be accepted for a 45-day period beginning on the date of this posting. All responses must be accompanied by a completed Questionnaire. Any responses not accompanied by a completed Questionnaire will not be considered. The intent of Questionnaire No. 1 is to identify potential sources for the governors, exciters, protective relays, and control equipment and to determine the level of interest among small businesses. Any questions regarding this announcement should be sent to the cclifford@usbr.gov email address or mailed to the Contracting Officer's attention. Phone calls will not be accepted.
