- Intent to enter into Sole Source procurement negotiations: Olympus America, Inc. Special Notice Number: N0025916N0019 THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Naval Medical Center San Diego anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations under Statutory authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, with: Olympus America, Inc. 3500 Corporate Parkway Center Valley, PA 18034-8229 The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. The objective of this sole source award is to procure service maintenance and repair services on government owned Olympus Equipment as listed below. Rationale: Olympus America, Inc. has patent rights and proprietary ownership of their products, parts, services and does not authorize third party service dealers or retailers to service/and or resell their equipment or parts. As a result, Naval Medical Center San Diego has a Bona Fide need to acquire, on a sole source basis, service on the following items: • Flexible Video Gastroscopes, GIF-H180 • Single Balloon Flexible Video Gastroscopes, SIF-2TH180 • Flexible Video Gastroscopes, GIF-HQ190 • Duodenoscope,TJF-180V • Video Colonoscope, CF/PCF-H180 • Endoscopic Ultrasonic Scanning Scope, GF-UCT-180/UE160-AL5 • Larynscope ENF-V2 • Flexible Endoscope Fiber Optic Light Source CLV-180/190 • Endoscopic Ultrasonic Scanning System EU-ME1/ME2 • Video Monitor OEV-261H/262H • Scope Guide UPD-3 • Video Colonoscope, CF-H180AL • Video Colonoscope, CF-HQ190 The NAICS code for this requirement is 334510; the small business size standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by 10:00 am PST on 30 January 2016.
