Smith, (615) 225-6395 3.Contractor: University of Kentucky, UK Hospital 800 Rose Street Lexington, KY 40536 Contractor is classified as a large business 4.Contract Number: VA249-16-D-30182, a sole source award was made January 01, 2016 for a base period of award until September 30, 2016 and four one-year option periods, to provide Cardiothoracic Surgery services for the Lexington, KY VA Medical Center. 5.Amount of Award is estimated at $23,073,975.00 over the five year term of the contract. 6.This award will allow the affiliate University of Kentucky, UK Hospital, to provide qualified personnel to provide off-site Cardiothoracic (CT) services to non-emergent VA patients who are considered candidates for cardiac surgery. Initial assessment is completed at the Lexington VAMC and, if indicated, patients will be transferred to UK for surgery. Resident training is involved. After surgery and the appropriate post surgery length of stay the patient will be transferred back to the VAMC Lexington, KY.
