Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Natick Contracting Division on behalf of the U.S. Army Natick Soldier RD&E Center (NSRDEC) intends to award a firm fixed price contract under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) only one responsible source to Emmepiemme S.R.L., Placenza, Italy for processing entrée items with a conventional retort and with an Ohmic Heating System. Emmepiemme S.R.L is the only company who owns the unique patent of the most advanced Ohmic Heating System. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. 1. Nature and description of the supplies or services required to meet the agency's needs: Thermally sterilized Buffalo Chicken, Plain Pasta, Macaroni & Cheese, and Chicken Potpie Filling entrée items. These items shall be processed with a conventional retort and with an Ohmic Heating system, and receive the same sterility (Fo= 6). The items will be tested for microbial safety, quality, and storage stability, and be used to showcase the benefit of novel processing such as Ohmic heating. 2. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by sending responses to this requirement to the Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground CCAP-SCN, Natick Contracting Division via sara.j.torres7.civ@mail.mil no later than January 18, 2016, Noon (EST)
