- Description
- This is not a solicitation. Information in response to this notice will be used for market research purposes. The Florida National Guard Child & Youth program is tasked and funded to provide education and resilience building programs for the 9800 dependent children of Florida Guardsmen. One of the core elements of the Child and Youth program, as listed in NGR 600-12, is the State Youth Symposium. “The objective of the State Youth Symposiums is to enhance the life skills of NG Youth and to promote their leadership, resilience and personal development. Scheduled locally and conducted annually, the State Youth Symposium brings youth leaders together to share experiences about coping with deployment cycle issues, provide input to the SFPD regarding NG CYP needs, and offer leadership and life skills training opportunities to youth volunteers”. At this event, we will feature workshops where the expected outcome will be youth better prepared and equipped to deal with the challenges associated with being a military youth and a renewed sense of strength and resilience that will come from a feeling of belonging and connectivity with their peers. A total of three days of instruction are required. The objective is to contract a company that uses a comprehensive curriculum, preferably with STEAM programming (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art-Design, Math) as a basis, to provide outlets for Military teens, ages 12-18, to tell their personal stories, and also gain some hands on experience with practical application of an outlet such, as journalism (writing or photography), or another developmentally-appropriate life skill and resilience-building education and youth development activity. The program has identified BACKPACK JOURNALIST LLC, A, as a potential contractor for this requirement. Any contractor interested in being considered should provide company, curriculum information, and past performance information to the POC’s listed.
