- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY for market research purposes to identify interested vendors for the potential requirement detailed below. A formal solicitation and performance work statement are not available. Additionally, in accordance with FAR 19.5, Set- Asides for Small Business, the Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement, should it come to fruition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334513 and the size standard is 500 Employees. The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement to purchase Submersible PVC SensorRods - Temperature Data Logger in rod, Type 22L manufactured by Alpha Mach, Inc., Canada, and to determine if any vendors can provide a product on a brand name or equal basis to the SensorRods. Minimum Salient Characteristics: The SensorRods (or equal) must: 1. Measure temperature in subsurface environments at a minimum of 6 different depths continuously. 2. Measure temperatures ranging from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius with a precision of +/- 0.5 degrees Celsius and a resolution of 0.5 to 0.0625 degrees Celsius. 3. Have enough built in memory to record temperature at a 15-minute interval continuously for 6 different depths for 60 days before requiring download. 4. Be durable enough to withstand being driven into submerged stream substrate using hammer. 5. Be able to withstand long periods submerged under water and allow for remote cabled connection for data download without requiring removal from substrate. 6. Have internal battery with multi-year lifespan. 7. Ship with interface and software application for retrieval of data collected. Software must be compatible with PCs with Microsoft Windows 7 or newer operating system. All business concerns who believe they can responsibly provide this type of product should submit the following information to the contracting officer. 1. Technical capability of this type of product as described above. 2. Past performance information describing other contracts for similar products/services your company has been awarded. Past performance information should be submitted for projects conducted within the last three years and include: project title, location, whether the work was as a prime or subcontractor, contract/subcontract dollar value, type of contract, percentage of self-performed work, and overall performance rating received. 3. Small business status of vendor (8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.) 4. Point of contact information for vendor, Cage Code, and D&B Number. 5. Any other information that will prove the vendor is capable of providing the required product. In order to be responsive to this Notice, a firm must provide the appropriate documentation for consideration by December 20, 2015. Responses that do not comply with these procedures will not be considered. NOTE: All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary - the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Materials submitted to the Government for review will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. This is not a request for quotations.
