Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for the Concrete Repairs project at the Townshend Dam, located in Townshend, Vermont to determine the interest, availability and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for these procurements is 238110. The project is planned to be issued on or about June 2016. The project will occur in the fall of 2016 and is expected to take about two months, including submittal approval. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $500,000.00. This project consists of the following components: -Remove loose concrete, clean with a high pressure water blast, and apply a bonding agent and mortar to the two worst spalled areas on the upstream face of the spillway weir, and a large spalled area on the downstream face of the spillway. Vehicular access may not be possible to these locations. -Repair the rock anchor pockets along the top of the weir, to complete the repairs started by a previous contractor. -Remove loose concrete material at areas having spalling and poor concrete consolidation, clean with a high pressure water blast, and apply a bonding agent and mortar to several areas at the exterior stairs on the intake tower. The total area to be repaired is estimated to be 738 square feet total. Access to this work area will require fall protection. -Remove loose material and fill the interior vertical wall cracks with a flexible sealant along their entire length at the crack in the chimney wall in the northwest corner of the control tower. -Demolish and remove the entire outlet channel northeast toe wall above the existing bedrock outcropping. This will require removing the chain link fence that is currently on top of this wall. -Install a new outlet channel northeast toe wall, with a new chain link fence, to duplicate what is currently there. Contractor should note that work on several components of the project will require fall protection. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work components stated above. Please include at least two specific examples of the firm's experience performing the work requirements stated above. The projects must have been performed within the last five years. Please indicate the team subcontractors that will be used to support the offeror's effort and include their prior experience and qualifications. Proof of bonding capability is required. Responses are due January 18, 2016. Responses should be emailed to ATTN: Lennie.K.Mattis@usace.army.mil. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Interested firms shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
