Description

This is PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE - The US Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN, hereinafter referred to as MVAHCS located at One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 621111 with a size standard of $11 million. The VA will award a firm, fixed price, commercial services contract. Contract use will be limited to Minneapolis VA Health Care System only. The solicitation will contain requirements for a 12 - month base contract. Service will begin February 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017 for the base year. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on or about December 15, 2015 and will be issued via FedBizOpps Electronic Posting System at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The Contractor shall provide board-certified Ophthalmology physician services on-site in accordance with the specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS). The Minneapolis VA Health Care System has one of the busiest Ophthalmology Services in the VA System. The MVAHCS has recently remodeled and expanded the Ophthalmology Department to a state of the art facility and estimates that it will staff approximately 50,000 ophthalmology clinic visits annually and will perform approximately 1,400 ophthalmologists with expertise in corneal/anterior segment surgeries to provide an estimated total of up to eighty (80) hours of service per week. The scope of ophthalmology services required includes: staff outpatient clinic; perform surgical procedures; and provide consultative services.
