- Word Posting The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) - Gaithersburg, MD, invites you to attend the Industry Day for the Advanced Measurement Laboratory (AML) Nano Fab construction requirement. Date: January 12, 2016 Start Time: 10:00 AM End Time: 1:00 PM A snow day date of January 19, 2016 from 10:00AM-1PM has been established. Please call 301-975-8000 on the day of the event. If NIST is closed or experiencing a delayed arrival the event will be on January 19, 2016. Location: National Institute of Standards and Technology. Building 217 Room H107 100 Bureau Dr Gaithersburg, MD 20871 The event will begin at 10:00 AM. Attendees should plan on arriving to NIST at least 30 minutes prior to the event so you may process through the visitor center; obtain a visitor's pass and check-in at the event. Check-in at the event will begin at 10:00 AM EST. A complete/most current agenda for the event will be provided at check-in. There will be site visit tours scheduled for this event. The Government is interested in industry feedback for the following areas in helping to validate or revise the acquisition approach. 1. Contract Type 2. Evaluation Factors 4. CLIN Structure 6. Performance Metrics 7. Subcontracting/Teaming Arrangements 8. Other RSVP: Contractors electing to attend the Industry Day must respond to Josh Alderoty at joshua.alderoty@nist.gov with the full legal name and citizenship of any persons attending no later than January 8, 2015. The title of the e-mail shall be "AML Industry Day." All attendees will comply with requirements listed within this URL - http://www.dhs.gov/real-id-enforcement-brief for IDs being used to enter NIST. Project background: The contractor will be providing construction services in the 536,507 square feet AML Complex which is one of the most technologically advanced complex in the world, providing combined features of close temperature control, vibration isolation, air cleanliness, and power quality. The AML complex consists of five buildings (buildings 215 through 219), each with one scientific level, two metrology buildings (buildings 218 and 219) are below grade, two physical sciences buildings (buildings 216 and 217) and a Cleanroom building (building 215, NanoFab) are located above grade. Building 215 houses 8,000 square feet of class 100 cleanroom, a multi-million-dollar suite of state-of-the-art nanofabrication and nanomeasurement equipment. This equipment is selected to provide users with a high degree of flexibility with tomorrow's technologies. All of the scientific tools within the CNST NanoFab are designed to accommodate a wide variety of materials and substrate sizes from small pieces to conventional size wafers. The contractor shall have the capability of supporting facility upgrades and modification to accommodate rapid changes in technology equipment and facility.
