- This is a pre-solicitation notice for a service for cancer abstract data with the first submission of 864 cases by 31 January 2016, located in the Hematology/Oncology Department at the Atlanta VA Medical Center for the cancer program accreditation. Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7 will be posting solicitation VA247-16-Q-0117, on or about 9 December 2015, on this website for cancer abstract at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This acquisition will be procured using FAR Part 13 procedures via full & open competition. A single-award, base year and four 12 month options is the intended for this contract type. This is a 100% Service Disable Veteran owned business (SDVOSB) Set-aside. All correspondence and responses shall be via e-mail to Gail.Bargaineer2@va.gov. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide all labor by a Certified Tumor Registrar to complete this project. Standard 5.1 of the Commission on Cancer Program Standards requires that "case abstracting be performed by a Certified Tumor Registrar". The Atlanta VA is requiring that the CTR's that are working on this project be up to date with the renewal of their CTR credential through the National Cancer Registrars Association. Each of the Certified Tumor Registrars (CTR) contracted for this project must be familiar with data submission to the National Cancer Data Base and have experienced with a Commission on Cancer accreditation survey. The contractor's assigned CTR's must be familiar with the VA Cancer Registry OncoTraX software as the patient's abstract is entered into the software database record. The state of Georgia requires a unique abstractor ID number for any abstracts entered and uploaded into the registry database. Any new contract abstractor associated with this project must go to the Georgia Center for Cancer Statistics website www.sph.emory.edu/GCCS and registrar by clicking on the Abstractor Registration on the left side of the home page.
