THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY FOR CHENA MOWING FLOODWAY/SEEPAGE COLLECTOR & SEED/GRAIN PLANTING SERVICES AT CHENA RIVER LAKES FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT OFFER OR PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS NOTICE THIS IS NOT A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting market research to facilitate a determination of acquisition strategy. The determination of acquisition strategy for this acquisition lies solely with the government and will be based on this market research and information available to the government from other sources. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, is conducting this market research to identify businesses which have the capability to perform the following work. Any resulting contract will be a Firm-Fixed priced Purchase Order. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Mowing and seed/grain planting are critical to the operation of the dam for the purpose of impounding, diverting and regulating floodwaters for the Chena River Flood Control Project. Mowing of a mixture of vegetation within the floodway and seepage collector channels is required. About 500 to 800 acres each year require mowing. The project also requires seed and grain planting to maintain the vegetative cover and prevent erosion. The target acreage to plant each year is 80 acres, but can vary between 50 and 200 acres per year. The Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project is located 18 miles east of Fairbanks, Alaska, near the community of North Pole. The period of performance is between May 1 thru September 1 for the base year (2016), and each option year, if awarded. The contract consists of a base year and 2 option years. The Contractor is to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to accomplish the work. The Service Contract Act will apply. Type of contract is firm-fixed price. The magnitude of this project is under $150,000. Interested firms should submit the following information regarding their company: 1. Company Name, Address, and Point of Contract including email address. 2. Small Business status (Example: Service Disabled Veteran, 8(a), Hub-zone, Small Business, etc.) 3. Provide a list of type of equipment you are planning on using for this project.
