Description
Sources Sought information for the Shock Isolator Repair. Purpose The purpose of this Sources Sought/Request for Information is to conduct market research to assist in determining if the ability to repair and test silicone and pneumatic shock isolators exists in the commercial market. The Government will use this information to determine whether or not it is economical to repair/test our assets outside the organic arena. Background The requirement is for the repair and testing of MSS/LER/LCC shock Isolators. The Shock Isolator is used in isolating the movement of the missile suspension system (MSS) the launcher equipment room (LER) floor and the launch control center (LCC) floor. The SIs are critical components of the United States Air Force, Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) ground support system. The shock isolators are currently repaired at Hill A.F.B, Utah. Because of the potential for increased demand the repair facilities at Hill A.F.B may not be able to keep up with the demand. These workloads will see an increase from 37 per yr. currently to 169 per yr. in FY18. There is a potential for about 50% of these needing to be outsourced for repair.
