- Federal Business Opportunities Information Date: 10 November 2015 SOLICITATION NO. W9128F-16-B-0001 On or about 25 Nov 2015, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Little Papillion Creek, Channel Improvements, Omaha, NE. The solicitation will close on or about 30 December 2015. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A site visit date and time will be issued with the advertisement package. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) A PL84-99 Repair Project of the existing Little Papio Channel and Levee Flood Control Project is located in Douglas County, Omaha, Nebraska. The repair area is 1300 feet south of the intersection of Little Papio Creek and Dodge Street near the Nebraska Furniture Mart warehouse. The repair project will consist of raising the channel bed for 70 feet with a graded filter, sheetpile wall cutoff across the channel 60 feet wide by 20 feet deep and increasing the channel capacity by installing two rows of sheetpile 36 feet deep approximately offset 30 feet apart in the right bank of the channel. Three stainless steel relief wells 80 feet deep will be installed between the sheetpile walls. The relief well outfall pipes will penetrate through the lower sheetpile wall approximately 8 feet below the top of the sheetpile wall. An access ramp will be excavated in the right bank side slope from the downstream end of the site to the relief wells with gravel surfacing. A 48" dia. RCP will be removed and replaced 48" dia. RCP Class V which is set back into the right bank channel slope for clearance. The existing riprap (1200 tons) will be removed and salvaged for placement elsewhere and a graded filter consisting of riprap (3500 tons), spalls (1500 tons) and bedding (1500 tons) will be installed within the right bank slope and channel bottom for approximately 250 feet. At the top of the upper sheetpile wall a curb and gutter and fence shall be installed. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
