Description
The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions that were submitted. The questioning period is closed and no further questions will be accepted. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. A. Questions and Answers: 1.How many calls are received a day, a month? Corrected response answer: This is hard to determine. Call volume varies weekly. On average a call time range: 15 to 20 minutes, occasionally calls can exceed 1 hour. On average calls received range from: 15 to 30 a week. However, calls fluctuate based on patient flow. High volume calls are related to the connection from the ISP going down and all users losing connection to the Internet or when there is a failure of the equipment. 2.Do you want a quote for remote monitoring of the network? Answer: Yes 3. Do you want a full help desk solution? Answer: Per the SOW, 24x7 Help Desk Services 4.Is the Tech Support just for the bandwidth to be provided? Answer: Per the SOW, The vendor will only provide bandwidth services and technical support. The vendor will be responsible for engaging the ISP to determine outage or problem with the ISP's network. 5.Is the Tech Support for the equipment (to include Controller, Switches, Media Converters and Wireless Access Points)? Answer: Per the SOW, Hardware will be maintained by the vendor as part of the 24/7 technical support. A list of the equipment is provided in the SOW. Vendor employees may need to access to data closets for repair/maintenance of hardware. Vendor is required to contact OI&T through the COR prior to their arrival to the VA Medical Center. Vendor may be required escort by OI&T personnel while on VA premises. 6.All adds, moves, changes and deletions to the current network will need to be quoted separately? Answer: Yes, if any changes or repair/maintenance of the hardware is needed, the vendor shall provide written recommendation to the COR. If any work is performed based on recommendation, work will be performed on a separate contract. 7.To clarify, the current Wi-Fi service is or was operational and you are just looking for a company to take over the bandwidth and maintenance of the current service? Answer: Yes 8.It is our understanding that all Wireless Access Points are already installed and operational. All network equipment is installed and operational and we would just need to add/replace the bandwidth to make it go live. Answer: Yes 9.Does the VA have any spare Access Points (APs)? Answer: No. 10.Is it safe to assume that the current service meets all desired requirements (as long as the 20 Mg burstable to 50 Mg Bandwidth is installed) of the Mental Health Department? Answer: Yes 11.Is there a system for password protection in place today or is one needed? Answer: Yes, a 1-step password system is currently in place. 12.Is the system currently equipped with a real time monitoring system such as SNMP? Answer: Yes 13.To confirm, we were told that there is fiber between bldg. 1 (Mental Health Dept.) and bldg. 6 (Demarc). Is there available fiber between bldg. 6 and bldg. 7 (SCI Dept.)? Answer: Unknown, do not have access to information. 14.By Bandwidth we are assuming you are looking for the 20 Mg (burstable to 50 Mg) bandwidth as described in the RFP. Question, is the current bandwidth being brought into the VAMC Demarc (Bldg. 6) or can we get the location? Answer: Yes. Per the SOW, Hardware including access points is already housed in various VA data closets and the router is located in the main communications building (Building 6). 15.Can the Government please provide a diagram for Building 6 and highlight the location of the router and ISP equipment? Answer: Diagram is unavailable for Building 6. 16.Is there a separate router deployed in the network or is the government referring to the Dell SonicWALL Firewall when it uses the term "router"? If the router referenced is a separate device, please provide the manufacturer and model number of the device. Answer: Dell SonicWALL Firewall is referring to router. No separate device. 17.What is the size/speed of the current Internet Service Provider (ISP) circuit? Is the handoff from the ISP fiber or copper? Answer: Unknown, do not have access to this information. 18.What type of cabling backbone is in place between the main communications building (Building 6) and the other buildings? (i.e. Single-mode Fiber, Multi-mode fiber, Copper) Answer: Unknown, do not have access to this information. 19.A Windows server is referenced, which does not appear on the equipment list. Please provide the manufacturer, model number and a brief description of what role this server plays within the network. Answer: Unknown, do not have access to this information.
