Attch 4 - LPRD BFI Registration Form Attch 3 - Map to Truman Gate and Bldg. 201 Attch 2 - Contents of a Visit Request Attch 1 - LPRD BFI Agenda LPRD BFI 2015 Announcement LPRD BRIEFING FOR INDUSTRY DAY 2015 Introduction The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Directed Energy Directorate (RD), Laser Division (RDL) will host a Briefing for Industry (BFI) Day at Kirtland AFB, NM on 02 December 2015. The BFI will provide a comprehensive summary of the Laser Division's upcoming acquisition -Laser Pod Research and Development (LPRD) Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) which will support the Self-Protect High Energy Laser Demonstrator (SHiELD) Advanced Technology Demonstration (ATD) Program. This briefing will provide industry with an understanding of RD strategies, future direction, and business opportunities with AFRL/RDL. Objective The objective of the BFI is to provide a timely update to industry on the mission and vision of the LPRD BAA and how it relates to the overall SHiELD ATD. It provides a forum for industry to gain knowledge and insight into the Research & Development (R&D) RDL is pursuing by providing a thorough and comprehensive presentation of LPRD's technical objectives. In addition, the BFI will offer ample opportunities to communicate directly with the presenters through one-on-one sessions which will be held after the briefing. This is an excellent opportunity for the Government and Industry partners to meet, enhance awareness of program challenges, explore opportunities, stimulate competition, and facilitate collaboration for the upcoming acquisitions in support of the SHiELD ATD. Registration To register for the LPRD BFI and to obtain base entry access the following is required: 1. All interested parties MUST complete the registration form (Attachment 4 ) and return it to the AFRL.RDL.ACQUISITIONMAILBOX@us.af.mil no later than 20 November 2015. Contractors must be U.S. citizens and will not be allowed to bring in any electronics; including, but not limited to, portable computers, cameras, two-way pagers, cellphones, thumb drives, blackberries, wireless transmitters, Wi-Fi devices, tracking devices etc. No more than two people per firm will be allowed to attend the site visit; per firm is further defined as division/subsection of a company. 2. Interested parties must send a visit request via JPAS (SMO Code: KV1MFSCC6). Please submit your visit request no later than 20 November 2015. Due to the level of classification of this briefing all attendees must have a SECRET Clearance in order to attend. Reference Attachment 2, Contents of a Visit Request, for further instructions on obtaining a visit request. Current AFRL contractors are also required to submit a Visit Request in order to verify Security Clearance via JPAS. 3. All interested parties MUST enter though the Truman Gate and arrive at Bldg. 201, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico on 02 December 2015 between 7:30am - 8:30am Mountain Standard Time (MST) for check-in. Please do not go to AFRL Visitor Control Center; badges will be provided to you at check-in. Reference Attachment 3 for a map to the Truman Gate and Bldg 201. 4. To allow discussions at an appropriate level of detail, all non-Government attendees will be required to be U.S. citizens and to supply a copy of their organization's DD Form 2345, "Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement," no later than 20 November 2015 (prior to being confirmed for registration). Details regarding acquiring and submitting a DD Form 2345 are available on the Defense Logistics Agency/Joint Certificate website http://www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp/Default.aspx. The Joint Certificate Office anticipates providing certification in 30 days or less from receipt of the DD Form 2345. 5. Attendees who do not provide all necessary items by 20 November 2015 will not be registered for this event.
