- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to include questions and answers. 1.What are the make, model, and quantity of batteries in the UPS system? We have 160 batteries in the UPS: 120 are manufactured by EATON, Part # PWHR12500W4FR, 40 are manufactured by CSB, HRL12500WFR 2.Do you know the date the batteries were last replaced? The 120 Eaton Batteries were replaced in 2012, The 40 CSB Batteries were replaced in 2011. 3.In the specs 1.2 it says "- UPS Module (battery replacement included)". Are you talking about individual jar replacements as they occur or is this full string replacements? Is the costs of the replacement jar(s) separate from this contract, i.e., done on a Time and Material basis? This is a full service contract. Any and all components that are failed will be replaced as needed during the contract performance period. 4.In the solicitation it states contractors would be required to provide "Web Access to account information and site service activity." Is this a mandatory requirement? No, this is not a mandatory requirement. 5.Can you provide further clarification on the battery replacement requirement? Typically full battery string replacement is required on this type of UPS System between 4 and 5 years. Once a string has had 10% replaced due to failure, the entire string should be considered for replacement. Based on the age of the current batteries they are quickly approaching typical replacement period. During the contract service periods should a full string replacement be deemed necessary how will costing for that replacement be addressed? Batteries are included as part of the FULL SERVICE and would be replaced by the contractor. Any additional questions may be sent to the Contract Specialist, Katherine Dorn at katherine.dorn@va.gov. Please note that the solicitation closes Monday, September 21, 2015 at 3:00pm MDT.
