- NOTICE OF INTENT The 502d Contracting Squadron intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Beretta, 1760 Beretta Drive, AccoKeck, MD 20607 for the purchase of Beretta M9A1 Replica Training Aids. Beretta is the proprietary vendor and sole distributor of this product, which is used by the Air Force Security Forces Training Squadron. The proposed contract action is for the production of a replica Beretta M9A1 that will be utilized in training future Air Force Security Forces personnel. The Beretta M9A1 is the primary small arms weapon utilized across the Air Force and other DOD agencies and the replica Beretta M9A1 training aid will ensure training is commensurate with real-world law enforcement duties. The training aid will be manufactured directly from Beretta incapable of firing live projectiles and is not considered a live firearm according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and the USAF Small Arms Program Office. The Government intends to solicit and award to only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Interested persons may submit their interest and capability for future consideration no later than Wednesday, 23 September 2015 at 4:00 pm CST. This notice of intent is neither a request for competitive quotes nor a solicitation for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
