- Description
- The United States Army Tank and Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) in Warren, Michigan has a requirement for the following: This is a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) 100% Small Business set aside to provide one (1) elevating platform trailer. (1 Each) Quantity: One (1) elevating platform trailer. See Trailer Specifications for detailed description and specifications. (1 Each) Freight. Trailer must be shipped FOB Destination to Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI and arrive no later than 15 Nov 2015. See Shipping Information in solicitation. Trailer Specifications TARDEC has a requirement for one (1) elevating platform trailer that will be used to transport a metal training apparatus that weighs 6600lbs along with miscellaneous signage, training aids, and small items that may also be on the trailer when it is lifting, lowering, or towing. The trailer must meet the following requirements listed below: Hitch type: Trailer tongue hitch with a Ball or Pintle is acceptable Max elevating height of platform: 48" or greater Method of elevating platform and operation: Trailer elevating platform must have the ability to hydraulically lower to ground height, raise to dock height or any level in between while remaining level throughout the procedure. An electrically driven elevation system must be the primary mode of operation; a manual backup is acceptable but not required. Elevation system must have on board power to power itself (i.e. generator or battery). If on-board system is battery operated it must charge the via a provided 120V charger or via 12V tow vehicle power (drawing no more than 30 Amps DC through a standard trailer to tow vehicle connector) Max load trailer can transport (payload capacity): 7500 lbs or greater Size requirement for the load deck (bed size): A minimum of 74 inches wide by 14 ft in length Tie down locations required: a minimum of 6 tie downs (3 per side evenly spaced from front to rear) Brake requirement: Brakes suitable to stop the trailer up to its maximum GVWR. Electric trailer brakes or hydraulic brakes (i.e. surge or electric over hydraulic) are all acceptable examples. Tailgate requirement: a ramp style tailgate that is attached to the trailer, remains in place during towing and supports loading and unloading of the load. If tailgate is greater than 50lbs it must have some assistive device, such as a winch, to reduce lifting effort on the operator to less than or equal to 50lbs. Minimum load angle of the loading ramp (measured when trailer platform is at lowest elevation and trailer is setting on solid level ground): 7 degrees or less Trailer Breakaway Kit requirement: A Breakaway kit must be installed, kit must charge on-board battery using power from the tow vehicle. Other requirements: DOT legal tires and lighting Safety Chains Manufactured in accordance with all applicable U.S.A Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in effect on the date of manufacture. Minimum of one spare tire that is mounted on the trailer via a spare tire mount. End Statement of Work Basis for award - ACC-WRN intends to award to the lowest responsible offeror. The Government may also choose to negotiate if only one offer is received.
