Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source firm fixed price consignment agreement with Depuy Synthes, a Large Business to provide Bio A tissue reinforcement for intraoperative use within VISN 21 Medical Treatment facilities. The Gore Bio A tissue reinforcement is intended to be used to reinforce soft tissue during the phases of wound healing by bridging soft tissue. Surgical mesh implants are requested for consignment and replacements received within a 24-48 hour window of use. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 339112. The Government believes that Gore is the only provider that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source for the required Bio A tissue reinforcement. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.501 sole source. To the best of our knowledge, Gore is the only source that can provide the above indicated implants. This is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer on or before the closing date, 9/08/2015, of this sources sought notice. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to nicholas.kluch@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated however, a determination by the Government not to complete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Gore.
