Description
We require a cryogenic system for quick turnaround testing of superconducting microstrip resonators with the capability of expansion to testing of arrays of superconducting detector arrays fabricated on multiple 6" Silicon wafers. This system should meet the following requirements: 1) The system requires a quick cooldown to 4 Kelvin (<20 hours) 2) The system requires a sub-Kelvin cooler that can reach base temperatures of 50 mK with hold times of greater than six days at 100 mK with a cooling capacity of > 100 milli-Joules. 3) The system requires that the sub-Kelvin cooler be a removable Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigerator (ADR) insert, to allow the system to be expanded to alternatively use an existing three-stage He4-He3-He3 sub-Kelvin fridge, already in-hand at Fermilab. 4) The system requires a two-stage pulse tube cooler (PTC) refrigerator with base temperatures of 3 and 40 Kelvin that are achievable under approximately 0.1 Watts and 30 Watts of loading, respectively. Nominally, we would like a PT415 system from Cryomech, Inc., or comparable. 5) The PTC's cold head should have vibrational isolation from the cryostat shell. 6) The PTC's motor should be electrical isolated from the cryostat shell, nominally the Cryomech, Inc. PT415-RM option, or comparable. 7) The system requires that the working volume of the 3 Kelvin space be equal to a cylinder with an approximate diameter of 17.5" and vertical height of 22". 8) The system requires temperature sensors on the 3 and 40 Kelvin stages. The criteria being reviewed will be as follows, but not limited to: Technical ability to make cryogenic system Experience of project team members Quality assurance plan Fabrication plan Delivery schedule Similar projects completed Please supply enough information fo Fermilab to evaluate your capabilities. Offers to include F.O.B. Fermilab delivery terms. Offeror to package adequately to prevent damage while in transit to Fermilab.
