DO NOT USE the document under 'System Generated Solicitation Files.' Modular Appliance Feasibility Study; U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, Massachusetts. The Government anticipates that this solicitation, in the form of a Request For Proposal (RFP), will be available on or about 1 August 2015 from the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website on-line at https://www.fbo.gov/. The solicitation, specifications, and associated information will be available only from the Federal Business Opportunities website. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Contractor will conduct a study to investigate modifications and hardware additions necessary to convert the latest generation of fuel fired modular appliances to be by an electric source. The heat source of the current generation of modular appliances is a liquid-fueled burner that convectively heats an extended cooking surface or vessel when installed in a direct-fire module or heat transfer surface in case of indirectly heated appliances (such as a convection oven). The contractor will be expected to perform appropriate analytical heat transfer or computational fluid dynamics modeling in order to produce the study, thereby achieving the goals described in the RFP. All deliveries shall be F.O.B. Destination to the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA. less than br / greater than less than br / greater than The Government anticipates awarding a single Firm Fixed Price contract with a six (6) month period of performance. This solicitation is set aside for Small Businesses. Funds are presently not available for this acquisition. The applicable North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this solicitation is 541330 - Engineering Services and the small business size is $15,000,000.00 in revenue. All responsive offers from responsible offerors will be considered. Interested offerors must be registered with in the Systems for Award Management (SAM). SAM registration information can be accessed on-line at https://www.sam.gov. Interested offerors are required to post their representations and certifications on-line within SAM.
