Description
This is a Brand Name or Equal Request for Quote combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format of FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a written solicitation will be issued for the solicitation number NIAID-RFQ-1750066 Request for Quote. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-83. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a small business set-aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516, which has a size standard of 500 employees. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in support of Clinical Center has a brand name or equal requirement IAW FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal for a PerkinElmer Health Sciences Enspire Multimode Plate Reader catalog # 2300_0000. The NIH/NIAID would like to purchase a quantity of 1. This requirement will also include 2 option years for extended warranty coverage 12 months each. The Enspire Multimode Reader is a system that provides high-performance technology and flexibility for a wide range of applications. It is a compact, user-friendly and configurable instrument that can read optical biosensor label-free, fluorescence intensity, absorbance, ultra-sensitive luminescence, time-resolved fluorescence and Alpha-technologies in microplates. In addition to its high technological advancement and remarkable accuracy, Enspire can drastically reduce assay performance time and simplify protocols. Specifically, our laboratory will make use of the Enspire for the high-throughput measurement of HIV-1 infectivity by the Alpha-technology p24 assay, as well as by luminescence reading of reporter-gene activation in engineered target cell system. This instrument will be essential to improve the speed and accuracy of diverse virus-inhibition assays using V2 sulfopeptides and neutralizing antibodies against an array of mutated HIV-1 envelopes. The government will award a firm fixed price purchase order to the responsible contractor. FOB destination is preferred.
