Description
This Solicitation is hereby amended to post answers and questions. All other aspects of the Solicitation shall remain the same. BBG50-S-15-00022, Maintenance on the BBG UPS Power Supply System - Questions and Answers. D-3 Job Site Access: Parking is not provided, however you may unload and pick up batteries in the loading dock Question 1: Can we stage the new batteries in the loading dock if there is no space to stage them near the UPS? Or is there a staging area for the new batteries near the UPS? Answer 1: The UPS room is adjacent to the loading dock. Question 2: After removing the old batteries from the building, can we stage the old batteries in the loading dock and have them picked up at the end of the day? Answer 2: Yes, however any batteries that are leaking fluids shall be removed from the building as soon they are removed from the UPS rack. Health and safety of the building occupants is paramount. F.1 Constraints: The contractor shall perform the battery replacement by only replacing 40 batteries at a time. Question 3: Please confirm if this means we can only replace 40 jars a day or 40 jars at a time meaning if one string is complete we can move on to the second string if there is enough time to complete another string within the day. Answer 3: Yes, one string at a time and you cannot move on until the batteries are functioning. COR will give the go ahead to move to the next string. Question 4: Is Security clearance needed to perform a job walk to survey the area? Answer 4: Clearance not required, security will check you in and P.O.C. will escort. Question 5: What is the existing battery model and manufacturer? Answer 5: It's listed in the SOW. (Which was attached to the Solicitation.) As follows: C.5 Deliverables: All work must be completed within 45 calendar days of the contract award. Supply and install 280 batteries. 12 volt 540 watts #PWHR12540W4FR 6 cell, max. discharge current - 800 A, or equivalent"- physical dimensions 13.5 W x 10.85 H x 6.69 D VRLA SEALED W/3 year warranty. The contractor shall put the new batteries in service and commission each battery to ensure it is with in its design for voltage. A report shall be submitted (within 72 hours) to the COR for each new battery along with name plate data, location and cabinet number and voltage. Old batteries will be removed from the building as they are replaced.
