- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement to install a fiber optic connection from Building 1 Room #153 (IT LAN Room) to Building 2 (Telecommunications closet). This work is one component of a larger NOS VoIP project planned at COL. The fiber optic cable installation of this contract is required to be completed in advance of the NOS project so that all tie-ins and phone hook ups can be completed within the NOS project. Minimal disturbance of daily work tasks to COL staff by construction noise, placement of equipment, blockage of walkways, etc. is required and must be coordinated with the COL IT Systems Administrator. This contract is intended to be comprehensive and provide long-lasting and functional service of fiber optic cable to perform high quality VoIP operations at COL. The Contractor shall provide all manpower, materials, tools, supplies, transportation, ladders, lifts, barricades, signs, and all equipment incidental to and necessary for the performance of all tasks described in this statement of work. No additional money is available for additional charges to complete this project. All materials used on this project must be new and obtained from trade compliant countries. Contractor will conduct bores, provide and install 1.5" HDPE conduit from the Building 1 Boiler Room to Building 2 telecommunications closet Room, provide and install 1 ½" schedule 40 PVC conduit inside buildings as a chase for all fiber optic cable, provide and install fiber cable, properly buffer and terminate all cable runs, and fully test all installations to assure the system is fully functional for subsequent equipment hookup. The period of performance is 15 calendar days from the date of award. The estimated cost of the project is less than $25,000.00. Eastern Acquisition Division, requires that all Contractors doing business with this office be registered with System for Award Management (SAM).
