Description

The VA Office of Research and Development, Durham VA Medical Center Research Department in Durham, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Life Technologies Corporation pursuant to FAR 6.302-1; for the purchase of Reagent kits that will be used to assist the Durham VAMC lab with processing the TRAM1L1 gene. This is a SNP that is in high LD in which this gene is showing genome wide significant association with volume of lateral ventricle in PTSD. Life Technologies Corporation is the owner of the trademarked equipment that the items to be purchased will be attached to. Life Technologies Corporation is the only provider of the custom made ION Ampliseq TMcustom panel. The items will be delivered to the Durham VA Medical Center at 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than August 17, 2015, at 3:00PM, EST. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
