Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the NIST Physical Measurements Laboratory (PML), intends to negotiate with United Mineral and Chemical Corp; Lyndhurst, NJ, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302-1 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, to purchase SUSI 40-LxxxD36 Silicon Sublimation Source. The SUSI 40-LxxxD36 Silicon Sublimation Source includes: CS 63-40 LxxxD58 Water Cooling Shroud on flange DN63CF, Option S: Integrated manual rotary shutter, CA-C035-0600 Cable Set for Effusion Cells up to 75A, 6m TC Type C Extension Line, PS 20-76-C DC-Power Supply 1450W and PID Controller (OPTION). United Mineral and Chemical Corp is the sole reseller for this product. The silicon sublimation cell will be used to encapsulate the dopants in silicon by growing an over layer. The encapsulation must be done at low substrate temperatures to prevent P diffusion and maintain doping profile. The sublimation cell shall have a silicon cell that can be heated by direct current to produce high purity silicon evaporation with minimum metallic contamination. The sublimation cell is required due to their low deposition rate which is typically lower that 0.1 nm per minute which gives excellent flux control. The NAICS CODE is 334515 - Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals with a size standard of 500 employees. NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price purchase order to United Mineral and Chemical Corp in the 4th quarter of fiscal year 2015. Interested parties which believe they could satisfy the requirements listed above for NIST may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to Barbara Suhrie at barbara.suhrie@nist.gov. All responses to this notice of intent must be submitted so that they are received at barbara.suhrie @nist.gov no later than August 20, 2015 at 3:00 PM EST.
