- Description
- This project consists of two components: 1) National Register Documentation and 2) Historic Resource Study. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on or about August 4, 2015 with a proposal due date of September 4, 2015. Contractors will be required to submit both a technical and price proposal. 1) National Register Documentation. The work to be conducted under this contract will consist of preparing a multiple property submission. The multiple property submission consists of two parts: (1) Multiple Property Documentation Form (MPDF) and (2) one individual National Registration form. The contractor shall prepare a National Register MPDF for Cane River Creole National Historical Park (CARI) in accordance with current standards and scholarship defining and developing appropriate historic contexts (excluding archeology). The MPDF should take into account the entire park and address the historic contexts developed in the CARI Historic Resource Study. The contractor shall use text prepared for the CARI Historic Resource Study (HRS) to form Section E of the Multiple Property Documentation Form. Additionally, the contractor shall prepare one National Register Form, to be submitted under the cover document. The resource to be documented will be selected by NPS from the resources identified in the ¿Management Recommendations ¿ chapter of the HRS. 2) Historic Resource Study. The goal of this project, as further defined below, is to complete a Historic Resource Study (HRS) for Cane River Creole National Historical Park (CARI) in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. This includes research, writing, and formatting for publication. An HRS provides a historical overview of a park or region and identifies and evaluates a park's cultural resources within historic contexts. It synthesizes all readily available cultural resource information from all disciplines in a narrative designed to serve managers, planners, interpreters, cultural resource specialists, and interested public as a reference for the history of the region and the historic resources within a park. Entailing both documentary research and field investigations to determine and describe the integrity, authenticity, associative values, and significance of resources, the HRS supplies data for resource management and interpretation. It should recommend preparation of National Register nominations for any qualifying resources that have not been designated. The HRS also identifies any need for special history studies, cultural landscape reports, or other detailed studies and may make recommendations for resource management and interpretation as appropriate.
