- HSCGG1-16-B-RECONJOHNSON RECONFIGURE GSK JOHNSON HALL RELOCATE CW RESOURCES, USCG ACADEMY, NEW LONDON, CT (NEW LONDON COUNTY) SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS ONLY A MARKET SURVEY FOR WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUCEMENT. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointments for presentations will be made. The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone Small Business concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB), 8(a) certified Small Business concerns, Woman-Owned Small Business concerns or Small Business concerns. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a small business size standard $36.5 Million. The estimated value of the procurement is between $100,000.00 and $200,000.00. Bid, payment and performance bonds will be required. The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking Interested Vendors with successful past performance, current relevant experience, personnel/resources, equipment, capability and bonding capacity to provide construction services required to reconfigure GSK in Johnson Hall to create a separate office/work area with access to existing exterior entrance to relocate CW Resources at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Work includes the removal of the existing electrical receptacles, phone, and data outlet and removal of the existing railing system on the exterior ramp. Contractor shall remove, salvage, reconfigure, and reinstall one bay of storage rack, and provide additional storage racks as shown in GSK; provide mezzanine with access stair in CW resources office/work area; relocate and add sprinkler heads as required for revised area plan layout; verify and provide a report that existing pipe sizes and revised layout meet required code or provide hydronic calculations that revised system piping and layout meet code; patch and repair all holes in existing block walls within CW office/work area; extend existing domestic hot and cold water piping and sanitary drain piping into CW area for washer connection; provide new electrical wiring, conduit, receptacles, LED lighting with local switches, split system HVAC fan coil unit with local control for new office/work area and additional items noted on the drawings. The heater coil shall be connected to existing steam system. Contractor shall encapsulate lead based paint on walls, etc. with required primer and prepare and paint all walls with primer and 2 coats of interior latex paint; and provide new painted galvanized steel railing system at existing exterior ramp. The performance period for this project is 20 weeks (with 4 weeks estimated for work on site). Your response should include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as prime contractor; (b) a statement identifying your certified small business designation (if any); (c) evidence of bonding capacity to the maximum magnitude of the project, to include both single and aggregate totals; and (d) evidence of specialized experience similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers and (e) a positive statement of intent to perform at least 15 percent of the cost of the contract, not including the cost of materials, with its own employees. Your response is required no later than 20 AUGUST 2015. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on an applicable set-aside.
