- Sources Sought Synopsis (Intent to Purchase on Sole-Source Basis) LOCATION: Robins AFB, GA 31098-1813 FBO Post Title: Intent to sole-source purchase of Circuit Card Assemblies, 5998-01-462-9093 and 5998-01-528-3314 SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Circuit Card Assemblies (NSN) 5998-01-462-9093 (P/N) 5129350-5 the A7 card and (NSN) 5998-01-528-3314 (P/N) 5144070-15 the A8 card. Due to the obsolescence and age of the CCA's Raytheon is the only contractor with the expertise and parts to build these CCA's from scratch. ITEM DESCRIPTION The Circuit Card Assemblies are used on AN/APQ-180 Radar used on the C-130U Gunship. Due to real world conditions this weapon system is being used extensively and no letup is forecast in the near future. This weapon systems life expectancy has been extended to at least 2025 at this time. Impediment to Competition: The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of this item is the Raytheon Company, CAGE 4U884. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Raytheon is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the CCA's performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Raytheon for the manufacture of the two NSN's listed above for the Circuit Card Assemblies in support of the AN/APQ-180 Radar used on the C-130U Gunship. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement NLT 11 August, 2015 via email to James Stevens ( james.stevens.2@us.af.mil ) or April Walls via email ( april.walls@us.af.mil ). The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
