Description
FA8124-15-R-0002 Amendment 3 **THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY** AMENDMENT #3 This is a Request for Information (RFI) only, which, as part of ongoing market research (ref FA8124-15-R-0002), is being issued in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 15.201(e). This is not a solicitation/request for proposal and no contract shall be resultant from this synopsis. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Propulsion Sustainment Branch is seeking to identify engine alternatives and associated specifications for use in a B-52H engine capabilities study. DESCRIPTION: The USAF continues to evaluate the feasibility of a B-52 Re-engine approach through assessment of the information provided in earlier RFI responses. From analysis of the earlier RFI responses, it is unclear whether engine pricing information provided is based on quantity / volume pricing (i.e., pricing information for one engine or multiple). Clarified inputs are being requested for the previously identified engines that include pricing information associated with the potential purchase of 650 engines, with /without inclusion of Contractor Logistics Support. As with prior RFI's, the desired population remains engines which provide equal to or exceed 20% fuel savings and have estimated shop visit rate of 10,000 hours. The assumption that engines are expected to be flown an average of 250 hours/year for 25+ years remains unchanged. There is no solicitation package available at this time. When expressing interest, potential offerors are requested to provide the following information: company name, company address, CAGE code, size status, and POC name, title, address, telephone number, facsimile number, and e-mail address. Interested parties are encouraged to register to receive notifications through Federal Business Opportunities. All interested parties should send company and/or descriptive literature along with responses, questions and/or comments to Nita Kracke at (405) 734-6724 or jane.kracke.2@us.af.mil or Melanie Easom at (405) 734-6376 or melanie.easom@ua.af.mil. All responses must be received no later than 18 Aug 15. All questions and comments must be in writing (e-mail is preferred). No telephone calls will be accepted. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this request, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any costs incurred in developing the information provided to the Government.
