Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District is providing a PRE-SOLICITATION notice for an upcoming Invitation for Bid (IFB) titled: Repair Towers B867 (68 Units) B868 (68 Units), Camp Kinser, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. The IFB project will be solicited under full and open competition to LOCAL SOURCES ONLY in Japan. Local sources are those companies that are physically located and licensed to conduct business in Japan. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Project Title: Repair Towers B867 (68 Units) B868 (68 Units), Camp Kinser, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220 Project price magnitude is between 1,000,000,000 YEN and 2,500,000,000 YEN (utilizing a 100 YEN to 1 U.S. dollar rate). Project Description: The scope of the project consists of all management, tools, design, supplies, equipment, transportation, labor and services necessary to repair Common Areas and 68 units at Camp Kinser, Towers 867 and 868. Common areas (to include hallways and stairwells) work closet, sinks partitions), doors (interior and exterior), windows. Unit work will include but not limited to replacement of ceilings, flooring, windows, doors, paint, light fixtures, hard wired smoke alarms. Additionally, the Contractor will repair existing fire sprinkler systems in Towers 867 and 868 and provide complete coverage inside each unit. Kitchen work will include but not limited to replacement of countertops, paint, range hood, base cabinets, GFCI outlets, wall cabinets, sink and sink drain system, flooring, wall tiles, GFCI, lighting fixtures, doors and any other associated work. Bathroom work includes but not limited to replacement of sink, bathtub, tile, lightning, ceiling, toilet, GFCI receptacles, exhaust fan, fixtures, flooring, piping and any other associated work. Minisplit and electric water heater work include but not limited to comprehensive electrical survey, necessary electrical upgrades to meet the current code and to ensure that all electrical system are capable of supporting the installation of mini-split and electric water heater systems, cooling/dehumidifier system for common areas and hallways. In addition remediation testing/abatement of mold, asbestos and lead and all other related work to provide complete and usable facilities. INVITATION FOR BID INFORMATION This upcoming IFB will be solicited in August 2015 with a bid opening/award in September 2015. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.204, this IFB package will be downloadable from the Government Point of Entry (GPE) at www.fbo.gov. The project files will be in Portable Document Format (PDF) and can be accessed utilizing Adobe Acrobat Reader. This IFB will be made available for free and there are no charges for viewing or extracting the information. In order for contractors to be awarded contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense, the contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database; contractors can access the SAM database at www.sam.gov. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price construction contract from this IFB. Faxed or electronic bids will not be accepted.
