The work includes furnishing all labor, transportation, supervision, material, and equipment required to design and install lightning protection for the main NOSC building; install roller shades throughout the facility; and incidental related work. WINDOW SHADES Install new roller screen shades for all windows throughout the NOSC. There are approximately 230 windows; however, all quantities shall be field verified by the contractor prior to bid. The Contractor is responsible for field measurement prior to ordering. The color will be chosen by the NOSC and approved by the NAVFAC construction manager prior to ordering by the Contractor. The Contractor shall remove and dispose of all existing window coverings. LIGHTING PROTECTION SYSTEM Design and install a Franklin lightning protection system consisting of the latest UL Listed products of a manufacturer regularly engaged in production of lightning protection system components. Comply with NFPA 70, NFPA 780, and UL 96. Lightning protection system consists of air terminals, roof conductors, down conductors, ground connections, grounding electrodes and ground ring electrode conductor. Bond secondary conductors with grounded metallic parts within the building. Make interconnections within side-flash distances at or below the level of the grounded metallic parts. Include bonding of all items located on the roof, including, but not limited to roof drains, vent piping, exhaust fans and HVAC equipment. If applicable, ground shall tie into the steel structure of the building.
