Austin, Contracting Officer robert.w.austin@usace.army.mil The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District intends to solicit for construction services to demolish, remove, and replace the existing concrete slab surface and associated structural elements on the Grand River Outlet South Pier at Grand Haven State Park. The scope of work will include replacement or reconnecting of tie rods, removal of deteriorated concrete slab sections, restoration of structural foundations, and placement of new 8-inch-thick reinforced concrete slabs where damaged sections have been removed. The total length of pier requiring rehabilitation is approximately 1,400 feet, with average width of approximately 38 feet. Due to load restrictions on the pier structure, only pedestrian traffic will be allowed on the pier during construction. Vehicles and machinery must access the work zone from the adjacent marine environment, using anchored boats, barges, or similar conveyances. The construction contract is anticipated to have a 9 month completion period. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This Project is being procured as a 100% Small Business Set-aside. The Government intends to issue a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, which has a size standard of $36.5 Million in average annual receipts. The solicitation package will include drawings/plans and specifications. The solicitation package will be available only electronically via FedBizOpps at www.fbo.gov. Requests for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax, or email will not be honored, as contractors must download the documents through the FedBizOpps website. In order for interested contractors to conduct business with the Federal Government, contractors must register their firms at the System for Award Management (SAM). Contractors can access SAM for free at www.SAM.gov.
