- Description
- This is a construction only project to renovate Dormitory 118 at Yokota Air Base, Japan. The work elements include Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Fire Protection, Electrical, Environmental and Civil work elements, and the work scope includes change of room configuration (joining existing two studio bays to create a larger unit with kitchenette and bath (existing 196 single bed studio units will be converted into 98 one-bedroom units.), fire sprinkler system, and HVAC system, etc.. The project consists of Base Bid and three (3) Bid Options. Bid Options are relatively minor work such as Replacement of Exterior Windows (Bid Option 1), Installation of Security Cameras (Bid Option 2) and Installation of Electronic Door Lock (Bid Option 3). The magnitude of this project including the Bid Options is between ¥600,600,000 and ¥1,201,200,000 (in accordance with FAR 36.204 (g), between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000 with FY15 exchange rate of $1 = ¥120.12) Bond Requirement: The bidders are NOT required to submit Bid Bond. The awardee will be required to furnish Performance Bond to cover 100% of the contract amount. Pre-Bid Conference/Site Visit for Prospective Bidders is scheduled to be conducted on 4 Aug 15. The Pre-Bid Conference for solicitation briefing starts at 1330 hours at 374 CONS Conference Room 109. Questions: Submission of initial questions by 1 day prior to the Pre-Bid Conference/Site Visit is desirable. All other technical questions shall be submitted by 1500 hours on 18 Aug 15. The Bid Closing/Opening date & time is at 1400 hours on 27 Aug 15 (Japan Time). NOTE: THIS NOTICE IS INTENDED ONLY FOR LOCAL SOURCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION 5.202(a)(12). LOCAL SOURCES ARE THOSE SOURCES NORMALLY RESIDENT, LICENSED AND REGISTERED TO CONDUCT CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS IN JAPAN. OFFERS FROM NON-LOCAL SOURCES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED UNDER THIS SOLICITATION.
