Description
Remove and replace the automatic transfer switch located inside the Downs, Kansas pumping plant building with a double-throw non-fusible safety switch. The existing switch is an automatic switch with a battery charger located inside the cabinet. The existing switch and panel shall be removed. The battery charger and associatedwiring shall be removed and not reinstalled. The cabinet to the right of the transfer switch contains wiring, controls, and switches for the existing transfer switch. All wiring not required for the new double-throw non-fusible safety switch shall be traced down and removed. Any holes from removed switches, conduits, etc. shall be plugged with the appropriate blank covers. Any damage done to conductors or any other equipment shall be fixed or replaced at no cost to the government. Requirements of the new Transfer Switch: Manual actuated double-throw safety switch. Rating- 480 Volt, AC, 400 AMP, 3-Phase Shall be a brand name commercially available switch - Schneider Electric, Cutler Hammer- Eaton, GE, Siemens are acceptable brand names. Additional information and requirements: Special consideration must be made in regards to terminal lugs. The existing conductors have an actual diameter of the stripped multi-strand copper conductors of.875" (7/8"). Bus kits will likely be required to tie in existing wiring. All conductors appear to be in good condition with good flexibility and intact, pliable insulation. Special care should be taken to protect and reuse theses conductors. Any replacement conductors or other conductors required will be supplied by the contractor and are to be included in the bid price. Bids are required to include: Price for all work above resulting in a fully functional double-throw safety switch that meets NEC requirements. Submit part number and brand of transfer switch the offer intends to install. Credentials - Submit information of electrician that will be onsite (License Number, State of registration, and years of experience).
