- Description
- This is a Sources Sought. A contract may not result. The project objective is to improve the aerodynamic shape of the heavy-class motor vehicles. The process of shape designing requires the knowledge of complex three-dimensional flow field around the vehicle which is obtained by means of Particle Image Velocimetry and thermal imaging. A wind tunnel with these diagnostics is sought for a 1/8th scale heavy vehicle model such that the Reynolds number is greater than 2 million, therefore, the wind tunnel flow speed must exceed 200 miles-per-hour. The test object will be provided. The deliverable is a presentation, in-person, to Lawrence-Livermore National Laboratory and a written report of the test results. The desired testing date is to begin September 7, 2015, and take up to four weeks. A test plan is enclosed and available at the FedConnect website, in the upper-right corner of this notice. A party capable of this activity must respond via FedConnect to this Sources Soug ht by the Deadline on 8/3/15 at 6 am Mountain Time.
