- JOFOC for Scanscope Contracting Office Address Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine Office of Acquisitions, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) Acquisitions Branch, 6707 Democracy Boulevard, II Democracy Plaza, Suite 700W, Bethesda, Maryland 20817. Description National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) plans to procure, on a sole source basis, with Leica Microsystems, Inc., 1700 Leider Lane, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089, for the following: • Upgrade of existing Aperio/Leica ScanScope Digital Scanning CS/GL Windows 7 Upgrade This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 541380 and the business size standard is $10 million. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm-fixed price type contract. This upgrade is needed to diagnose various renal diseases in patients and will allow researchers to correctly identify and not misdiagnose what forms of renal disease patients may have. The upgraded/modified system will allow our lab to acquire the up-to-date systems with upgraded software for accurate analysis. This company is the sole provider within the U.S. and does not use third party vendors to sell/distribute their equipment/product in the U.S. (see attached for additional information). This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NIDDK to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. An original and one copy of the capability statement must be received in the DK Acquisitions Branch on or before 11:30 AM EST on July 23, 2015. Electronic capability statements (via e-mail) will be accepted. All questions must be in writing and can be faxed to 301-480-4226 or emailed to Lisa Josephowitz, Contract Specialist, at josephol@mail.nih.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to receive an award, contractor must be registered and have valid certification in the System for Award Management (SAM). No collect calls will be accepted.
