Description
This notice is to consolidate all information with regards to the upcoming forum. Please see the attachment for the questions submitted by industry and the responses known to date. Audio of the forum and visibility of the slides being presented is available. No two way electronic communication will take place and no verbal or written questions will be solicited or responded to during the forum. The electronic connection (audio and visual of slides) is subject to technical difficulties beyond our control and may affect the quality/ability to see and hear if you chose this option versus attending. THE PURPOSE OF THE FORUM: The Department of the Navy is planning to lease approximately 300 to 600 passenger-carrying electric vehicles, with an initial focus on our sedan fleet, to be used at various Navy and Marine Corps installations within the State of California. To facilitate an interactive electric vehicle leasing discussion with industry partners, the Naval Facilities Engineering Command is holding an Industry Forum on July 21, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the CalEPA Headquarters Building in Sacramento, California. This event will provide an opportunity for Department of Navy leaders and industry representatives to exchange innovative ideas on how the Navy may lease electric vehicles in the State of California and leverage current State and Federal monetary and/or tax incentives. Topics of exploration include electric vehicle leasing, including availability, warranties, maintenance, liabilities, charging infrastructure support, and other considerations. Event Details are as follows: Date: July 21, 2015 Where: CalEPA Headquarters Building, 1001 I Street Sacramento, CA 95814 Session Day and Time: Tuesday, 2:00-5:00 PM PST Session Room: Byron Sher auditorium Parking: Parking lots are also available in several nearby locations. The closest lot is across from the building on 10th and I Street. Featured Department of Navy and State of California speakers include: Mr. Joseph M. Bryan, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy. Mr. Bryan serves as the focal point on all matters pertaining to the Department of Navys energy policy as well as operational and shore energy initiatives for the Secretary of the Navy. Ms. Janea A. Scott, Commissioner on the California Energy Commission, which is the States primary energy policy and planning agency. Ms. Scott is the lead Commissioner on transportation and western regional planning and the chair of the California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative, a public/private organization focused on accelerating the adoption of PEVs to meet Californias economic, energy and environmental goals. Mr. R. David Curfman, Assistant Commander and Director of Public Works for Naval Facilities Engineering Commands (NAVFAC). Mr. Curfman is responsible for Utilities and Energy Operations and Management, Facilities Management and Sustainment, Facility Services and Base Operating Support Contracts, and Base Vehicles and Support Equipment Management. The government reserves the right to cancel this event at any time and is not responsible for any costs incurred in order to participate. The information provided does not constitute sensitive source selection materials nor is it intended to provide any potential offeror any type of competitive advantage should a solicitation for a requirement be issued in the future. Additionally, participation in the Interactive EV Leasing Discussion is voluntary and in no way obligates the Government to award any contracts or reimburse any costs associated with such participation.
